PAPER CHOICES

Please note: No one color or texture is “better” than the other. It’s a totally personal decision. I find watercolor paintings on bright white more vivid and modern looking. However, many others prefer the more traditional ‘classical’ effect of watercolor on off-white paper.

OFF-WHITE ARCHES PAPER

AKA “Traditional White” the hue of this paper is slightly yellow. Think cream-colored/ecru. The effect is more classical/traditional than modern, in my opinion.

Rough or Cold Press watercolor paper has a ridged/textured look and feel. The Rough Press will be more textured than the Cold Press.

Hot Press watercolor paper is smooth, and a bit more modern-looking in my view.
